With an impressive tally of at least 30 awards and accolades across various European countries – including ‘National Car of the Year’, ‘Electric Car of the Year’, and ‘Brand of the Year’, ‘Design of the Year’ and ‘Best Buy of the Year’ – BYD has proven itself to be a highly competitive player on the European car market.

The BYD DOLPHIN and BYD ATTO 3 have not only garnered praise for their design and performance, but also for their sustainability and efficiency. For instance, they both received an impressive five-star rating from Green NCAP, with an overall score of 98% and 97% respectively.

BYD’s rapid rise has drastically changed the perception Europeans have of Chinese car brands, especially on build quality and safety. Equipped with advanced technology, modern design and intelligent safety features – all BYD models which are tested by the independent European crash test institute Euro NCAP received a five-star rating. With their overall scores, BYD even firmly positions itself at the top of the EV industry in terms of safety.

Due to the numerous top ratings and reviews from journalists and automotive institutions, it's no surprise that BYD's models have excelled in the most prestigious car awards in the automotive world. The BYD SEAL even finished in a very commendable third place at the 2024 European Car of the Year election. This highlights again how well the car has been received by both juries and consumers.

Furthermore, both the BYD DOLPHIN and BYD SEAL reached the finals of the ‘World Car Awards’, which, with its international character and number of involved jury members, is regarded as one of the most coveted car awards in the industry.

BYD’s success is obviously not limited to Europe. Globally, in 2023, BYD has sold more than 3 million vehicles for the first time ever, with a staggering growth of 61.9% over the previous year and a leading position in new energy vehicle sales. In China, BYD even surpassed Volkswagen as the number one car brand, with significant market share and a 334.2% increase in exports.

This phenomenal growth and global market conquest by BYD indicate that the era of Chinese electric cars has truly arrived. With a rapidly expanding range and a trophy cabinet that is bursting at the seams, it is clear that BYD is not just a contender but also a pioneer shaping the future of mobility. It is a new era where the global car market is rapidly electrifying, and BYD is at the forefront of this revolution.
